The Harp Connection is the winner of our “TopTenREVIEWS Bronze Award.” The only thing that isn’t perfect about this online harp retailer is their actual website. So, don’t be turned off at an interface that appears unprofessional and busy; persevere and begin to cruise their website for lots of really interesting information.
The Harp Connection is a small company located in Salem, Massachusetts. If you live in the area and you love harps, you may want to consider working there if you don’t mind working hard.
These are the things that make the Harp Connection so special:
- Harp education – The learn about the harp section will really educate you on the various types of harps you can buy and explains, in plain language, what each harp is used for and why you should or should not purchase it.
- Celtic vs. lever harps – All of the other sites we viewed simply lumped them together, except for the Harp Connection. They outline the differences and explained where Celtic harps came from and why they’re different.
- Stolen harps - They have an interesting section on their website for stolen harps, where they list those that are missing. On the same page, be sure to read about scams that some private harp sellers may engage in.
- Monthly specials - They have a very long page of products that are on sale, from harps, to sheet music, to accessories. You really should check these out.
- Newsletter – The Harp Connection produces a yearly newsletter with highly educational information. We really liked the section on why harpists like certain harps. It really lets you know about the harp in question from the musician’s perspective. We were disappointed that there was no place to sign up to receive this really nice newsletter.
- Local news – Their Harpist News section was really lovely. It lets harpists know what’s available in the Massachusetts area.
- Directory of teachers - We just loved this! They make finding a teacher so easy. The Harp Connection has a page dedicated to a listing of each state and then the harp teachers available in that state.

The Harp Connection offers a very large collection of harps. In addition, they have a large inventory of used harps. In fact, if you have a harp you’d like to sell, they have information on how you can get your harp listed here on their website.
We noticed that there were tons of accessories and they even have accessories for lap and travel harps. The accessories can be purchased online. Even if you don’t purchase a harp from them, you really do need to check out their accessories. We’re sure you’ll find things here you won’t find anywhere else.
They have lots of rentals, and they have very explicit information on what kind of harps you can rent and how much they will cost per month.
The Harp Connection website has the best sales section of all the online harp store websites we reviewed. They have lots of sheet music, harps, and accessories - all on sale. And when you visit their website, don’t miss their impressive sets of books written on/by harpists about the harp.
